How to waste time and resources, HPE - Electronic City-1,Bangalore.
I was contacted by a recruitment agency about a hiring process that was supposed to include three rounds: SQL, Technical, and Hiring Manager. However, it became clear that the HPE technical team lacked clarity on their requirements and ended up wasting time and effort under the guise of a structured interview process. The job description shared was vague and missed key skill requirements, leading to miscommunication with the consultancy.
Candidates from multiple recruitment agencies across locations were unnecessarily called for a face-to-face round based on a misleading JD. The session, however, turned out to be a basic self-introduction screening for a group of over 20 candidates, handled by more than five panelists—many of whom appeared distracted and disengaged.
Eventually, a few candidates were selected based on specific skills that were never mentioned in the JD—skills that could have been filtered through resume shortlisting or a simple telephonic screening. This reflects the fact that HPE's Talent Acquisition team has failed to coordinate the hiring process.
