The process took about two weeks. I applied online and got a call about 2-3 days later from their Slovakian HR office to schedule an interview with the line manager. The HR call was very friendly but the actual interview with the line manager was the worst interview experience I ever had.
I applied to their dutch office and supposed to have a 20-30 minutes interview with the line manager who e-mailed me 15 minutes before the schedule time that he is very busy and he will call me in 5 minutes.
He clearly has never read my resume and did not know what was going on. First I thought he was reading out a set introduction. He asked me to tell a bit about myself and the reason I want to work at Henkel. I told him everything, including my motivation to apply and he asked this same question over and over again. It felt like he did not prepare and had nothing in his mind that he could ask me.
He did not understand my educational background and rudely asked if my undergraduate degree was from the secondary school I attended. He then told me that this position is very stressful and challenging, making it sound like the worst job ever, and asked if I was okay with this. I answered yes, he then said that he does not have any more questions and told me that he is now very busy but he will get back to me in a week. He did not even give me the opportunity to ask any questions from him. The whole interview lasted about 9 minutes and made Henkel an extremely unattractive company to work for.
