I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at HeliMods (Caloundra) in Jan 2020
Interview
After initial resume and portfolio submissions, shortlisted candidates were followed up with phone interviews which lasted a little longer than an hour. The hiring manager put emphasis on getting to know the candidate rather than going too much into technical skills related questions. It was a great way of knowing what qualities were valued by the company. This was then followed by a psych test for mental acuity and EI.
And then, an in-person interview which consisted of 3 main components: basic CAD exercises, engineering hand calculations and a presentation about a topic of your choice related to the company. Breaks were taken in between these exercises upon which I was also given the opportunity to meet the team and get a glance at some of the projects they were tackling. Feedback on the interview was provided. This took around 4 hours.
To close it all up, a final group interview (on another day) was conducted. This was mostly based around technical skills and expectations from both side. I was also given a bit more information about the current projects and the sort of tempo and challenges to anticipate.

Question 1
Who are some of the people that you look upto and why?
I applied from interstate and the interview process consisted of quite a few stages. The first step was a phone interview/screening with a recruiter which was quite informal, but important to ensure you're a good fit for the company and vice versa. The next stage was a one-on-one video interview with the Engineering Director (Tim). At the completion of this interview, I was sent a psychometric test which took about 30 - 40 minutes to complete. Tim called me to provide feedback on my results in each section of the test, which is something you don't get from 99% of interviewers. After this step, I was invited for an in-person group interview at Helimods headquarters with Tim, the Financial Lead and the Technology Lead. The conversations were very genuine, none of the "tell me about a time when you..." type of questions. Overall a great interview experience.

Interview
Interview is quiet long and involved, but this is probably why they have such a great team!
I had a phone interview first, then went twice to the company for interview and negotiation and did a Psychometric test on line.
