      IT Support Engineer Interview

      Jul 20, 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Crick, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Hako (Crick, England) in Jul 2022

      Interview

For a first interview, I had a Teams call with a member of HR who was very pleasant and wanted to get a sense of my work experience and give me a sense of the office environment. In my second interview, I had a Teams call with with an member of the IT team and we talked through more specifics of the job role, the software and hardware used, the amount of time that would be spent working with office staff vs remote staff, what I would be like with more operations based projects, etc. I left the interview with a very good idea of what the role would be about and how I would potentially fit into it. I also let him know that I had recently accepted another job offer at £26,000 p.a. The feedback that I got back from my recruitment agent was that he received a lot of positives from Hako. On Friday 15th I received a follow up call from the agent to arrange an in person interview at the site in Crick for Friday 22nd July. I arranged time off from work and booked a train ticket to stay in Northampton at short notice to make this happen. The train alone has cost me around £80 as I am currently living in the South East. Today (Wednesday 20th), I recieved a call from my recruitment agent telling me that Hako carrying on with the process and didn't give any reason as to why. This is highly unprofessional at such short notice when an interview had already been scheduled and when he knew that I had to travel long distance for the visit. On top of that, it is very confusing as to why no reason for the cancellation was given when according I had so much positive feedback from my earlier interviews.
