The recruiter was nice and personable, but the way she phrased questions was incredibly weird, challenging, and awkward. I’m sure my answer wasn’t the best because of that. Maybe it’s a weird recruiting tactic they have at HEB where they throw terribly phrased questions at applicants and see who can figure out what she’s asking. I felt like I didn’t get a fair interview because of that. Regardless, at the end of the interview, she said I checked all the boxes, yet I never heard anything back from her. I even followed up a week later and still didn’t even get a response. For a company that prides itself in having a great culture and serving Texans, I was disappointed that the recruiter wanted to make the interview difficult and couldn’t even take a minute to respond to my email after giving me false hopes.
