Spoke with one partner. I wore a suit and he was in a tee shirt. Nice and easy conversation, but they seemed distracted from the start of the interview. He gave some details of his work, but also ripped on the traditional big law firms.
Had a pleasant discussion with the tech transactions team about their counseling and contract work. The conversations with the corporate team were less clear and I found it difficult to accommodate some of their personalities.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Gunderson Dettmer
Interview
I applied 9/8, completed a phone screen 9/13, a partner interview 9/17, an associate and a paralegal interview 9/26, another associate interview 10/1, and another partner interview 10/14. Each interview was pleasant and conversational. I was informed on 10/17 after sending a follow-up email that decisions were being finalized, and today, two weeks later and after prompting with a second follow-up email, I received notice that they were moving forward with another candidate. I am extremely disappointed in the manner with which this interview and candidate review process was carried out. A hiring process should never carry on longer than a month. Had I known earlier that they were not interested in hiring me, I would have pursued other temporary means of income during this period of time.
