      Manager Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Grow Therapy

      Interview

Probably one of the worst hiring experiences I've ever experienced in my years of my career. I applied online and was met with generic "no reply" emails to fill out questions that should have been an interview, but I complied anyways. Next, I was asked for my availability, I received the email multiple times which in turn removed my previous availability that I submitted so that was annoying, and I still couldn't write directly to someone since it was a "no reply" email. A week passes and I don't hear anything and then I receive an email that I was scheduled for an interview and one of them was in a few hours! Luckily I was available but I have never had an interview literally the same day in an hour schedule before after over a week of no response and my availability has since changed. The first interview, the interviewer was nice and kind but unfortunately was not a recruiter or from HR and was unable to answer any of my questions about the role, the team or the company outside the JD. The second interviewer was ABSOLUTELY disinterested in speaking and clearly wasn't paying attention or listening because they asked me how I was doing or how my day was like 3-4 times. The interviewer then started peppering me with generic questions that sometimes were vague and when I would ask for clarification, they would then become agitated and defensive. I finally told the person that I was doing the best I can to answer the question without context about the company, the role, or the team other than the JD so I had to speak solely based on guessing and my years of experience. I finally had to cut it short because it was just a horrible waste of time and saying "we're a startup" is a horrible excuse because I've been a part of MANY start-ups and never have we treated people during the hiring process like that. Also, why would I want to work with someone like that, what kind of culture are they advertising? The previous interviewer even went as far as alluding to the haughtiness of some of their colleagues and the difficulty of working with them. I should have pulled out of the process right then and there, but then again, I didn't have anyone to email.

      Interview

Interview process was fine aside from the need to do a presentation, seemed excessive for the role in question. A streamline of all the people you’re required to meet with is necessary. 4 interviews with many levels of the organization seems excessive.

      Interview

Recruiter reached out to schedule a call over Google Meet - nothing available under 2 weeks. On the actual call, she seemed rushed and uninterested; very robotic and not personable. Talked fast.

      Interview

Zoom call with recruiter was simple and average like most jobs. Second interview with the hiring manager went great, laid back and more of a conversation. Provided great info about role and company.
