First, a group of potential hires were brought in to tour the plant, and then we were all tested (paper, multiple choice) in five areas: mechanical aptitude, math, communications, perception speed, spacial awareness (there might have been a sixth test, but I can't remember). After that, I was called to schedule an interview. It was a panel interview with four people. They each took turns asking me about 15 questions. The standard, boring stuff 'why do you want to work here,' 'what's your past look like,' etc. I didn't prepare at all for this, and had a really, awful interview. Stumped on answers, had to come back to a few, and sit there and think through my answers. Other than that, I suppose it would have been an okay interview.

The Hiring process was one of the worst things ever. trust me ill tell you why. So I have this full time job that im working, but its not paying well. so i go online and i find the "finishing helper" opening from graphic packaging and apply to it that day. i dont get a call back until over a month after that asking if id be interested in coming in for an orientation. i do said orientation ,and then leave. they then take another 2 weeks for the interview. the interview went like this: 3 people are in a room. two of them are completely out of touch with the actual job you will be doing, as they are salary managers not attached to the union that represents you and sit in nice comfy offices. They grill you on all sorts of matters that honestly doesn't and shouldn't concern the employer.
