I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at Government of Alberta (Edmonton, AB) in Mar 2019
Interview
panel interview, 1/2 hr, not very intimidating, asked for a bunch of forms to be filled out, needed a police check. Interviewers were nice and professional, asked fairly typical questions.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Government of Alberta (Edmonton, AB) in Jan 2024
Interview
Panel style interview with typical situational interview questions (e.g. tell me about a time when....). The interview felt rushed; it was 45 minutes, and the interviewers have a list of questions they need to get through. The Interviewers were friendly and understanding though so it was a good experience overall.
I applied and was given and interview. Initially they just sent a time when the interview was supposed to take place with either an acceptance or rejection response. I was in court on that date and so I had to reject the interview. There was no clear way to schedule another interview time. I had to contact HR and arrange for another date. The interview itself was stiff and it was unclear what was happening. They told me that they would be asking a certain number of questions but did not make it clear that time management was my responsibility. It was only half way through the interview that I was told I should pick up the pace. I was told that after that I did well but not well enough to be offered a position. Over all the interview did not feel fair and it was very frustrating to be told that I had not done well because they failed to clearly explain the process at the beginning. I spoke to another person interviewed for the same position and they also found the interview confusing and unclear.
