I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at GovX (San Diego, CA) in Mar 2017
Interview
The interview process went smoothly. I was contacted through Hired, and asked to do a phone interview with the CTO to see if we would potentially be a match. Had the phone interview and I was asked to go to their office located in La Jolla for an on-site interview.
I had a bad feeling as soon as I stepped through the doors to their suite. I was greeted by one of the engineers and the CTO, and already had the feeling these guys did not want anything to do with me. Both acted very awkwardly, and could hardly hold small talk.
We moved to the conference room, and two more engineers conducted the actual interview. Again, both of these guys were acting like they were wasting their time with me before I spoke a word. They asked fairly simple questions, and wanted to make sure I was comfortable working in their environment. After the interview was over, the CTO said goodbye to me and said they would reach out to me with a follow up.
Two weeks go by, and no word from GovX. I reached out multiple times via email and phone, and the recruiter I worked with could not get an answer as well.
They mentioned they haven't hired an engineer in two years. Apparently, they forgot their manners when interacting with candidates during that time.
