Had a phone screening call with a recruiter. She started asking me about my experience and obviously had a copy of my CV in front of her as she was quoting my previous experience to me. She obviously hadn't bothered to read my CV though, as she would have seen very quickly that I did not have the level of experience the company were recruiting for. When she did finally realise that I did not have the level of experience they are hiring for, she very quickly tried to jump off the call - in fact, I had to interrupt her and ask what was going on because she spoke so quickly. She didn't even ask if I had any questions etc, and again, I had to jump in to ask my questions. Unsurprisingly, I got a rejection email the next day.
My advice for the future, Goodiebox: read candidate CVs before jumping on a call with them. Please realise that a good candidate will spend time preparing for a call beforehand, so not only are you wasting 20-30 minutes of their time on a call, but you're wasting all the time they spent preparing, too.
