      Governance, Risk and Compliance Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Gong in May 2021

      Interview

There was an initial screen with the Recruiter, which was a standard set of screening questions matching the requirements posted to my background. Went through the obvious questions around Education, Certifications, and overall compensation desired. Then, I spoke with the Executive in charge of the overall function to level set on salary expectations and the background behind the role, which I found to be a pretty transparent conversation about my background and fit, and how it could help them with their initiatives. Then I was scheduled pretty soon with an interview with one of the Senior Managers under that Executive, which I felt was a pretty conversational in nature. It dug more into problems I had solved in previous positions, how I would approach certain problems, and some gauge on the overall fit. Based on the comments in that interview, I thought it was positive and there would be further interviews scheduled with the rest of the team. However, that's where the communication stopped. I didn't hear anything for a week, and after following up, the recruiter said that the Executive was reshuffling the multiple positions he had open, and that she had a meeting later that day to discuss with him. I also informed her at that time that I had just received an offer from another company, but that I was really intrigued by the company and really liked my conversations so far, so would be open to trying to extend the timeline of that decision to accommodate if they were still interested. I never received any reply after that conversation, and after 2-3 days, figured that they were not interested. It would have been nice to get a reply one way or another, but I guess the recruiters are too busy and like to leave candidates hanging. That pretty much just soured what had been a pretty positive experience so far.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Do you have any experience with creating new Security Compliance programs within an organization? How would you determine what to work on on your first day on the job? How would you prioritize the work?

Thank you for your feedback on your interview experience at Gong and I'm sorry the communication wasn't clear or timely. One of our operating priorities is to create raving fans and that includes candidates and we clearly missed the mark here. We've shared this feedback with the recruiter and team and will continue to improve to ensure candidates are informed properly throughout the process.
