Goldblatt + Singer interview questions

I saw the job posting on Craigslist. I emailed a cover letter and my resume and got a response within a couple of weeks via email to set a time for an interview. I came in for a one-on-one interview and an attorney interviewed me. He didn't like that I had a Bachelor's in Chemistry. He had my resume for a couple of weeks and read it before even scheduling the interview, so it's confusing to me as to why I was even asked in. I offered to sign a 1-year contract since his fear was that I would leave soon after being hired for a science-related position elsewhere, and the hiring process is tedious. I was told "That would be slavery. I believe that was outlawed, hmmm, hundreds of years ago." A few other passively rude comments were said by him during the 30-minute interview.
