I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at General Dynamics Electric Boat
Interview
I found out about GDEB from my school career fair. I didn't know anything about the company and didn't think they would have any jobs for me since I'm a chemical engineering major. The recruiter was very friendly and assured me that there were aspects of submarines that ChemE's handled. I learned alot for the application such as how fresh water was created and about submarine filtration systems to convince them that I had the requirements. I am still waiting to hear back but it seems like an exciting position to be in.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Many questions related to the Navy on the application. I expect typical interview questions and specific ChemE questions on separations and HEX.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at General Dynamics Electric Boat (Groton, CT) in Apr 2026
Interview
The majority of the questions were based on your personality and ability to work within a team. There were no technical questions asked for an entry-level position that I interviewed for.
I applied online. I interviewed at General Dynamics Electric Boat
Interview
Phone Interview; Call with multiple engineers including senior staff and engineering manager. All incredibly accommodating. Interview consisted of a resume walkthrough / talking about previous internships and jobs, review of the systems I would be working on, as well as a review of company pillars and ethos. They did not expect perfect answers given I did not work at the company.

Interview
Pretty easy interview, just asked a few questions about my experience. The guys interviewing me were very nice and it felt more like a conversation than an interview. Still haven't gotten back to me though
