      Business Intelligence Analyst Interview

      Oct 9, 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Garver in Sep 2024

      Interview

Man, I’m disappointed in Garver. In all aspects. I was interviewing for a Business Intelligence position, and initially everything was going smoothly. I had an interview with members of the team, and this was the most unpleasant experience ever. Rude interviewers purposely calling you the wrong name, snarky comments based off your experience, having no idea if your answer to their question is aligned, complete disinterest in the interview within 5 minutes, and even admitting to nepotism being the reason they have their current position is what I dealt with during my interview. And to top it all off, what went from a pleasant HR experience quickly soured due to them ghosting me. I don’t want to pull this card, but I believe there is a reason Garver suffers from a lack of diversity. But they are employee owned, so they can do and treat people however they want with no consequences. I question if they are truly even hiring anybody for this position.

      Application

      Interview

I was contacted directly by a recruiter from Garver. In our initial conversation, he told me the hiring manager was interested in interviewing me. He also confirmed my salary expectation, which I had clearly listed upfront (and was in the listed range). I confirmed it was my minimum, and he told me he would be scheduling an interview soon. That interview was never scheduled. After waiting a reasonable amount of time, I followed up to ask if the interview was still being arranged. No response. I understand that recruiting priorities shift and that not every candidate moves forward. That’s fine. What isn’t fine is a lack of basic professional courtesy. If compensation expectations were ultimately a concern, that conversation should have happened directly instead of simply ghosting. I won’t apply here again or suggest to others based on this experience. Respecting candidates’ time and communication goes a long way — something they clearly don't care about.
