They showed up to Queens College the fall semester before I graduated. Introduced myself, handed them my resume. Graduated in the spring with a bachelors. Once the spring semester ended I called them for a phone interview. They tell me that they would prefer someone with a masters. I check their directory and a majority of their partners only have a bachelors, the founder himself only has a bachelors. I find it hard to believe that the founder of the firm would be unqualified for an entry level position at his own firm. With this information it just seems like the person I spoke to in HR had a personal reason to reject me for a job.
