I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at GM Financial in Jan 2020
Interview
Smooth but very lengthy process. First, Talent advisor sent me an email to complete general reasoning test. Not too easy, but you can get them right under 2 mins. I’m guessing i got them all right.
Second, a 15-20 min phone screening was set up with talent advisor after 2 weeks and was asked questions on my proficiency on SAS, SQL. She spoke clearly and professionally. No behavioral questions (actually good coz i am an entry level candidate)
Call with 2 VP from econ team was set up after three weeks. General resume questions, they explain what you will do in the role. Easy going and sweet people. After multiple emails to talent advisor, got an email after three weeks that I am not selected further. They had me in the interview process for 2 months.

Question 1
1. With talent advisor:
On scale of beginner to proficient, what is your level of experience in using SAS, SQL, Excel, R, Python? Name some SAS procedures you used such as PROC SQL, PROC univariate etc.
2. Call with VPs:
Resume tailored questions. What is the academic project on your resume you really went beyond your comfort zone and what did you learn? Where did you get your data from? What problems did you face with raw datasets? Which software do you prefer for analysis and most comfortable with? How many observations did you have in the dataset?

Interview
There were 3 rounds: a phone call by HR, a SAS and skills assessment, and an interview/ presentation with department leadership.
1. The phone call was just a brief rundown of the job requirements and interview process. HR is super nice and helpful, and if you are familiar with SAS and comfortable working hybrid out of Fort Worth, etc, then you are good.
2. SAS and skills assessment isn't too bad. SAS questions are basic, and the skills assessment is SHL quantitative reasoning (untimed). If you pass, they follow up with the real interview pretty quickly.
3. Presentation and Interview with VPs over MS Teams. You present an econometric/ data analysis project that you have done in the past, answer questions about it like your reasoning etc, and then it moves on to a behavioral interview. For the project, aim for things that could be applicable, and focus on actionable insights.
