Question 1
Process is slow and there is little to almost no communication unless you reach back to them. The so called 'experts' that evaluate you in technical round aren't any experts at all. Unless your work specifically is exact to what they have done, you are out of luck. They barely understand standard terminology that a PhD student (who becomes an expert) in that field should know. It is no wonder GE Research is unprofitable, not innovative, and going on a downward trend as the hiring ppl are mostly mediocre engineers who reinforce mediocrity.
Very professional. Very insightful questions. Not too hard though. Sounds like they work on advanced projects. People there looked expert in their field. The tour was very helpful. The location looks good
