I responded to an advertisement on Craigslist, after a few days I received a call and did a phone interview during which I was asked very basic questions about my experience with animals and attention to detail, then I was scheduled for an in-person interview. It was a few weeks before I started orientation, as the hiring manager wanted to on-board as many people at once as possible. Orientation consisted of a few hours of reviewing the employee handbook and how to log on to the various websites used by the company. I did not receive any hands on training other than being shown how to log in, where to find information on the various sites, and how to handle my timecard. The only "skills review" I encountered was a very brief verbal "what would you do in this hypothetical situation" discussion, and I was never required to actually demonstrate any skills.
