      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Fuel Cycle in May 2013

      Interview

Applied online, had short phone interview. In person interview was strained, came off as a cliquish culture, positions self as market research company but associates seem to lack basic knowledge/credentials. It seems like it might be an interesting company for someone just coming out of school, but the low level nature of the work does not correspond with the experience they are asking for, and more so they seemed off-put by any demonstration of real experience. I could see a lot of what people say in the reviews working there through the interview. Knew after meeting the people the job and company wasn't for me, left it at that, never heard back. Like I said, could be a good starter job, not all bad. Seemed like there was possibility for client exposure that could be leveraged into a better job.

No difficult questions, just awkward ones about personal life, proficiency with social media, how to go about gathering research.

      Interview

I was contacted just before the new year by one of the Vice Presidents of Think Passenger. She explained to me that she did not generally do the interviewing but wanted to get the ball rolling. We had an absolutely lovely conversation. I confronted her about the negative reviews I have seen on GlassDoor and she responded openly and honestly about the company. She had me convinced. She invited me to come to an in-person interview at the local office the next week. I arrived and met with my contact, an office assistant, at this time I waited for the people who were supposed to interview with me. Though I was 15 minutes early they were 45 minutes late! Then I interviews with three people. The first was a gentle who said he didn't have the time to interview asked me one question and passed me off to the next. The woman who followed was absolutely pleasant, we had a great conversation and made me feel really good about the company and the interview. The third person to interview me was extremely rude, but the interview still went alright. At this point they guaranteed me I would hear from the company within a week and a half if there would be a offer. Once a week and a half past I e-mailed the Vice President who I had originally spoken with (she was the only email I had)... NO RESPONSE. A couple days later I called the office and spoke with the Office Assistant, she simply stated that they don't keep her in the loop on those decisions and could e-mail me later that day with an update. NO RESPONSE. Another week went by and I e-mailed the Vice President again. NO RESPONSE. It has now been well over a month since I have interviewed. I should have listened to the reviews I read on glassdoor and not wasted my time.
