I've seen the advert on StackOverflow and applied via careers page. I got contacted by HR a couple of days later. Interview process has following steps: 1. HR 30 mins. talk about the company, your background and expectations. A couple of behavioral questions. 2. Technical Challenge They send you a coding challenge and expect you to complete within 7 days. You should be careful about everything while building application like design, architecture, unit tests, ui tests and etc. Then you send the application for their review. They care about quality of the code especially clear code and structure. Please be aware of SOLID principles. 3. Technical Interview If your application is considered to be good on their side, they will send you a request for technical interview. In this step, you should be talking about every design decision, application structure, tradeoffs and libraries you used. They will ask you basic iOS questions. 4. Meet with Engineering Manager If you pass the technical step, you will be meeting with engineering manager. You will be asked a bunch of questions about your current working environment and workflow. You will come across a couple of behavioral and case based questions. 5.Meet the Team You will meet the team that you will be potentially working with on video call. It's a casual chat between team members, questions about you and you can ask questions them too. 6. Offer If your feedbacks are good, they will immediately call you and give you an offer. Later on, they will send the details about offer via email.

The first interview from the recruiter, Ionut, who reached out to me was a great sell of the company. I was asked of my experience and more details as to why I’m looking for other opportunities. He explained to me the next steps and I will be getting a practical coding test to write a simple app. From the code test description it mentioned this shouldn’t take more than 2-3 hrs but I can submit after a week. Indeed the app doesn’t need that much time I completed it in around 4-hrs. I received an email though after a couple of days that they didn’t consider my work at par with what they expect - using a 3rd party plugin instead of using vanilla iOS library classes/methods, MVVM for a small app, why landscape and not portrait (a discussion that would have been interesting in a second interview as mentioned by the recruiter). They should have just put that as requirement as I was trying to impress on them I can build apps without the help of any plugin but that’s their criteria. There’s so many ways to build apps but they weren’t clear on what they prefer and would rather the applicant take a wild guess and be lucky.
