After several emails, a strong 45-minute interview, and a personalized follow-up email, I was not granted the respect of even the most cursory recognition. The truth is that the job market is broken and devoid of transparency, accountability, or professionalism. But failing even to acknowledge receipt amounts to ghosting and (even worse) wasting proven professionals' time. It's demoralizing behavior from a supposedly international organization. Even if a reply does not include feedback (a decision that I happen to understand, as someone who has been a stakeholder in the hiring process), it should never be omitted from the process.
