I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Finishes First
Interview
Interviewing with Finishes First as a decorative contract painter was a pleasant and positive experience. The owner met with me at a cafe and we shared our experiences and portfolio's over coffee. I had just started up my business, with a few jobs under my belt. I was both worried that I would not be "good enough" as an artist, and worried that she would not be "good enough" for my taste preferences and sensibilities. Because I did not want to compromise myself by contracting with anyone who did not meet my high standard, I ended up interviewing her in a sense...questioning every aspect of her quality of work. Her work did speak for itself and I was impressed. Also, she was extremely professional and friendly, rare qualities to find co-existing. Needless to say, we "hired" each other.

Question 1
Since she has been established in the faux painting industry for over twenty years, her main concern was about my commitment. Fly by nights are prevalent in this type of work. This question was difficult in the sense that I did not know if I was going to take this job to the grave with me.
