      PM Interview

      Apr 11, 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Cape Town
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Fame (UK) (Cape Town) in Mar 2025

      Interview

Definitely gone downhill from all the great reviews. Dragged out and disrespected. Sometimes growth does that to companies. First an assessment and then introductory call. I was told “I’m putting you through to the next round and you’ll get an interview link within 48 hours, if you don’t, please reach out to me on LinkedIn!” Waited..reached out. No reply. Emailed and was then told “you’ll get steps early next week” 2 weeks later, emailed- no reply. 3 weeks later, last follow up, got told they’re not continuing. Keep in mind the entire time they’re posting Linkedin posts daily about how well they treat employees and candidates. I’m just reading thinking “wow”. For a company that preaches about treating candidates well, fast communication and general respect I was very shocked, as that’s one of the reasons I was so interested in Fame, I followed them for years admiring how companies can actually show respect. Sadly not the case here. It looks really bad when you do that do people. A candidate shouldn’t have to follow up more than once and waiting 3 weeks after being told you’re going through, make me postpone many other interviews waiting. I’m a very kind and respectful person but this wasn’t a good experience. I wouldn’t reccomend working for people who do that, it shows how internally you’d most likely be treated. It also shows how what they post is a facade. This wasn’t a case of “we’ll let you know feedback” as that always takes a while. It was a specific mention of going to the next round and a very specific timeframe. Anyway, unfollowed, not recommended and moving on to find a culture fit that lives up to what they share publicly. They don’t respect that job hunting is not a fun process, it’s not great always sitting in the dark and I think they could benefit from a better recruitment process or their reputation might go a bit stale (some honest feedback). I’ve already expressed my experience to people who were saying how they’d love to apply there, and just from hearing mine, they didn’t apply. I also have a few podcasting connections who mentioned this is definitely not within the values of the industry. Companies should be very mindful of this kind of thing. I’m open and honest and I think this should be improved internally. I genuinely hope they grow from this feedback, because their publicly advertised vision is great, just not currently reflected in the process.
