      Application

I applied through university. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at FM (Dallas, TX)

      Interview

First round interviews on campus 1 on 1. Felt they could have given better descriptions of the actual job. Second round interview, traveled to Dallas from Austin. I believe part of the "test" was just seeing if you were capable of gettig there on your own as you would be doing a lot of travel with the position. Full day of interviews with various groups and executives. Pretty stressful. Also given personality test.

      Question 1

Don't recall. A lot of it was getting to know if the applicant was capable of talking to various levels of an organization.
      1 Answer

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at FM in Apr 2024

      Interview

Three interviews and one meet up with a current consultant engineer. First interview was about my experience, very standard and 30 minutes Second interview was the tough one. They flew me into their office and it was 4 hours with the hiring manager and the training director. They asked me a lot of behavior questions - be sure to practice your “describe a time when…” scenarios. You need to be able to think on the spot, they’ll ask you to give details of a system’s function based on pictures alone. I had to present my own scenario describing a facility from the prospective of an engineer in this position. Not a lot of real technical questions, moslty trying to learn that you can observe a situation and figure out what’s going on. Third interview was with the manager over zoom. This was similar to the first interview. Save your big picture questions for this one. Then they had me meet with someone who worked in the position; very positive experience, they were truly honest about any worries I had remaining. Very positive experience, they emphasize wanting to make sure YOU know as much as you can about the job. They like it when you ask a lot of questions, so come prepared with all you might want to know.
