One of the worst interview processes I've had so far. I applied on LinkedIn. HR reached out and told me about the job and asked questions about my skillset and expectations. She told me that they will be taking 2 interviews in a single day and told me right away if they would want to extend me an offer. The interview day came and the first interview happened. The question was Largest Sum Contiguous Subarray. I completed it and answered any questions the interviewer had about my work experience. After the interview, I called HR for the second round but got ghosted. 4 days later, HR reached out to tell me that I did good in the first round and they want to have a second round. She told me they would finalize it right after the interview. In the interview, I was asked to design a job scheduling system for a social media app. HR told me I did good and they wanna extend an offer. I mentioned that I recently got a good offer from somewhere and asked to proceed only if they could beat it. HR told me that they can surpass the other offer. She told me that it would take a few hours to give me the offer numbers. After, a few hours HR told me that they now wanna take a culture-fit interview with the CEO. The CEO seemed like a very condescending, ego-inflated person. It gave me a terrible impression of the work atmosphere they would have in their company. By the way, they have a 6-day workweek. I got ghosted after the interview and never heard back from HR.
Takeaway points:
1. CEO doesn't seem like the person I could even think of working for.
2. HR doesn't care for your time. Lied multiple times during the interview process. I told them that I could only interview here if they could finalize things in a week but HR agreed to take both interviews in a single day but then ended up taking them 1 week apart and then scheduling another round on top of it.
3. Work week is 6 days with people usually working overtime. (Not my words)
