I applied online. I interviewed at Executive Speaking (Minneapolis, MN) in Sep 2020
Interview
It was all very last minute, they wanted me to be available right away but I would find the job fulfilling and it wouldn't really seem like work as a result
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Mainly, they are trying to figure out if: You’d be amazing at doing the job – More specifically that I have the skills necessary to do the job
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Executive Speaking (Minneapolis, MN) in Jul 2015
Interview
The interview was somewhat abrupt. The employee that scheduled the interview was no longer there, and the employee that did the interview was obviously new at it - I heard the owner coaching him before he took me down to where the interview was conducted.
I was told that the position had been open for some time - 3+ months - and that the position would be mostly sales until they had enough people to actually run a group training session. As of the day I interviewed, they did not have enough people signed up for group training, and it would be some time before I would be teaching regularly.
After a few basic prior-experience questions I was directed to stand in front of a camera where the representative videotaped me as I did a 3-minute speech. After which, I was thanked and sent on my way.
It was my impression that while they are looking for people for this job, they are really looking to fill two roles - one of salesman, and one of speaking coach/trainer. It is my impression that the owner is not really ready to fill the position, and/or may be entirely too demanding in what she is looking for.
She may also possibly too busy to put the time into developing the position, and as her staff is small (less than 10 people), she may not have the resources to devote to this 'expansion' of her training system.

Question 1
There were no questions aside from basic prior experience. Instead a cold 3-minute impromptu speech that was videotaped for the owner to look at for her decision making.
Thank you for the for the feedback. We will work to set clearer expectations for the interview. We are striving to learn how to find the best talent for our company.
Sincerely,
Anett D. Grant
President
Hiring process was as expected. I initially applied online and received a call-back the following day. I went in to meet with the hiring manager that afternoon and walked out with a job offer.
