Online application included some scenario based questions
There was 2 video interview questions if you passed followed by an in person interview which included "tell me about a time where ..." questions and a role play
I applied online. I interviewed at Ernest Jones in Feb 2026
Interview
Quite informal and conversational. After completing an online application and video assessment (answering 2 questions- Why do you want to work for Ernest Jones? What does great customer service look like to you personally?) I was invited to interview. It consisted of an interview and a roleplay. The interview consisted of building relationship questions, behavioural questions, situational, think classic retail. For the roleplay, the store manager informed me they no longer provide information cards, and instead I roleplayed covering a colleague’s appointment and I needed to collect information on the customer (e.g., what they need, if they’ll be a long-term customer, can we fulfill their needs?). The second half of the roleplay was discussing the interaction with my store manager- I did not have to sell anything.

includes personal questions (time you worked in a team) and a role play where you sell some jewellery to a 'difficult customer' to measure your resilience and professionalism more than product knowledge
