      Research Analyst Interview

      Nov 11, 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Equilar in Oct 2025

      Interview

first round is a phone screen that starts with basic questions, such as whether you need sponsorship and your GPA, followed by questions about your familiarity with the company’s goal and products and some general behavioral questions; second round is a 45-minute online assessment with two parts that tests your attention to detail; third round is a 1-hour interview that focuses on discussing materials they will send you in advance. HR is very responsive and typically schedules one interview per week, and since there're suppose to be another two rounds (one is a presentation and another is talk with an exec person?), the entire process might takes about a month

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What do you know about our products? Why Research Analyst? What are 3 strengths you would bring to our company? What's your biggest weakness? Long-term goal? What's your ideal working environment?

      Application

I interviewed at Equilar (Redwood City, CA)

      Interview

The 20 minute phone interview had basic questions about your background and understanding of the company’s goals. It was relatively straightforward and there were no curveballs. However, the pay is abysmal and it did not seem worth it in the end.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What is Equilar’s mission and why do they deal with SEC filings?

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Equilar (Chicago, IL) in Apr 2025

      Interview

Many rounds but the responses are very fast. One initial phone interview, one quick data assessment, one quick work review, one presentation, and the final call. It's a lengthy process, but it demonstrates what the job entails.
