I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at EngageTech (London, England) in Mar 2018
Interview
I applied online and received a phone call the same day in which I had a chat with a very nice man who asked me a few questions about why I applied and told me about the company. I was offered an interview in which I was told I would be given a phone task. I was then emailed a job description, an overview of the company and a brief of the phone task. It seemed simple enough, I had to role play a situation in which I called Pizza Express and sold them iPads. At the interview the man I had been liaising with greeted me and was very friendly and professional. We did the phone task which wasn't too difficult and then another man came in for some general questions.
I was first given the opportunity to ask any questions. Out of curiosity I asked about the male/female ratio as the office seemed to only have 2 or 3 women. I was told it wasn't a problem but then later on in the conversation I was told that his only reservation about me was that I wouldn't fit in because I expressed concern about the male/female ratio. This and some other remarks made me feel as if there is a very male orientated vibe in the office and the man was very defensive about this. Apart from this, the general opinion was that the company was not for me but I was given the impression that the diversity is not as varied as a company may hope for.
