Entry Level Management Trainee Position Interview

      Apr 14, 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Rancho Cucamonga, CA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Empyrean Solar (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) in Apr 2014

      Interview

Posted my resume on careerbuilder.com. Got a phone call from a recruiter in regards to the position. Here are the steps: 1. Initial phone interview for 15 mins. Want to know if you have any mangement or leadership experience. They will determine whether you are a right fit or not right away. If you pass, you move on to step 2. 2. In person interview with the manger. Takes about 30-45 mins. Basically, they will look at your resume and asked your some basic questions. You will move to step 3 if you pass. 3. They will call you back the same day to let you know if you are through the next round or not. If you are through, you will be invited back to shadow one of their current employees. I decline their invitation because this is not the right fit for me. 4. Not sure what will happen next. This type of company structures EXACTLY like The SoCal group in Orange County or any other marketing companies. Basically you start off with outside sales, then eventually "move up". You will have to find your own clients. Drive around all day to find customers. They said they are partnered with SunRun, a solar energy company, but SunRun doesn't have a lot of clients to pass it down. Basically if you like outside sales, find your own clients, build your own book, then eventually open an office and run it, then this is the right fit for you.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Questions are pretty straight forward. They want to know if you are the right fit for this job. One of the questions was asked: how do you deal with rejections?

Thank you very much for your response. During the interview days we do not show the referrals as much, we want to show a typical day to be transparent. It's a management training program and in 1-3 months, entry levels get promoted to Senior Energy Consultant level. We are opening 30 new locations in the next 2 years and we are looking for future managers in different areas, not only branch managers. We are sorry that this didn't work out for you, but we wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors!
