      I interviewed at Elvie

      Interview

The interview process started off well, with a clear structure and a welcoming vibe that felt genuine - HRR were friendly and engaging, as you’d expect. The process consisted of three stages: an introduction with HR, a meeting with the team and a final stage where I presented a project to the senior team. Although the process initially seemed promising, it ended up taking two months and ultimately didn’t result in a job offer for anyone. The reason given was “changes in management,” which was disappointing after such a long wait. The final stage, in particular, stood out. The task assigned was a significant undertaking, which I thought was a bit much, but I was happy to do it as I was really excited about the role. During this stage, the senior team mentioned that “every penny counts at Elvie,” which felt like an interesting comment at the time, but later made more sense when I came across some concerning Glassdoor reviews about the company’s financial position. After weeks of chasing, it started to feel like the business may have been looking for free consultancy rather than genuinely aiming to fill the position. It’s disappointing, especially coming from a company that emphasises "transparency" as one of its core values—values that sadly didn’t align with my experience. I would have been genuinely happy if one of the other candidates had been offered the role, but it was frustrating to see the process handled in this way. It’s disheartening to see such a gap between the values promoted on the careers page and the reality of how the process played out. While the initial stages were encouraging, the overall experience left me feeling let down. I hope future candidates have a more transparent and positive experience.
