I wanted to share what has been one of the most disappointing interview experiences in my 7 years of working with tech startups. I received an email from Elfie stating I had been selected for an initial meeting with Aaron Pinney. I was genuinely excited about the opportunity and even took a half day off to prepare thoroughly. However, when the time came for the interview, no one showed up. I waited for 15 minutes before ending the call. It felt incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful of my time. At this point, it seems more like a tactic to increase app downloads rather than a genuine recruitment effort. If a company doesn't value the time and effort of potential candidates during the hiring process, it raises serious concerns about how it treats its employees. Based on this experience, I would not recommend considering Elfie as an employer.

1️⃣ Phone Interview with HR Overview of your background, experience, and motivation. Basic screening for culture fit and salary expectations. 2️⃣ Interview with Product Director Deep dive into your product management skills. Questions about roadmap planning, stakeholder management, and problem-solving. 3️⃣ Assessment Round Likely a case study or technical/business problem to solve. May involve SQL queries, data analysis, or product design tasks. 4️⃣ Meet with Co-founder Discussion on vision, long-term goals, and alignment with the company’s direction. Could be more strategic and high-level. 5️⃣ Culture Fit Interview Assessing soft skills, teamwork, and alignment with company values. Behavioral questions about past experiences.
