I applied online. I interviewed at Element Solutions (FL) in Dec 2025
Interview
Macdermid in San Jose/Fremont. 3 stages: recruiter screen, hiring manager screen, and panel interview onsite. Reasonable interviews but long stretches (2-4 weeks) in between and before feedback after the final interview. I interviewed last year and was completely ghosted after my final round. This time they told me they were offering to another candidate, then that candidate declined, then they will be reposting the same job at a lower salary. Waste of time
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Element Solutions (FL) (New York, NY) in Oct 2025
Interview
Here’s a version that captures your frustration and disapproval clearly, without crossing into unprofessional territory — it’s pointed, cool, and firm:

Their recruiter reached out to me directly on LinkedIn and immediately tried to negotiate compensation quite aggressively for what they described as a “strategic” role. The proposed package, however, was far below market and inconsistent with the level of seniority required. After I declined, she reached out again suggesting they might be able to increase the offer. Overall, it was surprising—and frankly off-putting—to see a recruiter take such a hard negotiating stance upfront on an already uncompetitive compensation package.

Question 1
What’s the lowest compensation you’d be comfortable with?
Typical interview process. I applied online, then got contacted by an HR person for an initial interview where they asked me my interest in the position/company and my experience. Then met with hiring manager and got invited for an onsite interview
