I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Electroimpact (Mukilteo, WA)

      Interview

Very long and tiring interview. I'd recommend they cut it down or condense it. Arrived from out of town at 10am and was there until 2pm without any break. On the plus side, for anyone outside of King County, they will pay for your travel expenses up to $1000. I wasn't really "interviewed" or asked questions, instead I was given a 4 hour long tour of the facilities which I appreciated. On the other hand, the engineering test which was awkward. It was put at the near end, and by then I was exhausted and embarrassed myself with the meager performance. Not sure if this setup is intentional, but make sure you have mental stamina. Be aware that this company is predominately white and male dominated in the engineering offices. Everyone was exceptionally professional and amicable especially as a person of color, but it's hard to erase the fact that this company was fined by King County for allegations of discrimination (look it up). The starting pay offered was appallingly low (less than $60K). I was also expected to work overtime. It was justified by assurances that I'll see annual 25% pay raises....yeah right. Make sure you have alternative options for work, or else you'll sell yourself short. All in all, if you really like aerospace this place will definitely fulfill that interest. If you want to make a living....I'd look elsewhere.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Electroimpact

      Interview

Started with an online test. After passing that, I had 2 1:1’s with staff and a whiteboard test. Afterwards there was a phone interview with the president who asked if I could start the following Monday.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

It wasn’t a formal interview. I walked around with 2 engineers and just had a conversation. We would discuss practical solutions to things on the shop floor. It was great how informal that part of the process was.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Electroimpact (Mukilteo, WA) in Jan 2022

      Interview

Arrived expecting to meet Peter, the CEO. He was out sick, I wonder what with.. Peter had told me I already had the job before I showed up and he was making sure that I wanted to work there. I was handed off to an engineer who reviewed my online aptitude test which I had scored a 58/90 on. Turns out some of my answers were wrong because I missed a 2 here or forgot to carry there. They mainly want to make sure you understand the fundamentals of the problems moreso than your math work. I was lead around the factory by another engineer to show off the equipment. Then handed off to a senior engineer, Ben, to tell me about the company history and talk about project experience in university. I was handed a benefits information sheet and told I could leave if I had no more questions. This all took about 2.5 hours.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Simple truss problem with identifiable zero force members, degrees of freedom, ball screw (use a machine design book or look up the equation for thrust, springs in tension problem asking to find the force in one of the springs
