Interview
I applied to the Senior Product Designer position and after a few days I received a message from someone to ask me to complete an assessment. After a few days of being completed I followed up to get an update and he did now answer. He was ghosting me the whole time. And then a few days later I received a cold rejection.

Interview
My interview process with EcoPortal lasted almost three months and was unnecessarily long, with delayed feedback, canceled meetings, and inconsistent communication.
Although I received positive feedback on my technical skills, I was ultimately rejected because my English wasn't considered strong enough.
The biggest concern was the compensation. I was told the pay ranged from **USD $18–23/hour**, while the role required excellent technical skills, strong English, and a high level of autonomy. Presenting a **37-hour workweek** as a benefit didn't make sense to me, since the role is paid hourly and simply results in fewer paid hours each month.
The technical interview with **Luc** was the most disappointing part. It felt more like an interrogation than a conversation, creating unnecessary pressure instead of allowing me to demonstrate my experience. A good interview should help candidates show their potential—not measure how they perform under stress after a three-month process. The experience didn't reflect the collaborative and psychologically safe culture the company promotes.
My advice, especially to professionals in Latin America, is to carefully evaluate whether the compensation, expectations, and hiring process align with your career goals.
