Interview
Received a phone call from HR one month after submitting my application. Had a screening and a talk to align on compensation, then two 30 minute phone interviews with the hiring managers. During both, they assured me they were looking for someone exactly like me and that I was advancing to the next round. HR called me to schedule the in-person about two weeks out. 48 hours before the interview, the hiring manager emailed me with an assignment to make a presentation regarding some very specific questions (I had been given no warning that this was coming; I think they wanted to see how people perform under pressure but they need to realize job candidates may already work full time in demanding jobs). The in person interview consisted of them grilling me about my presentation and I was allowed no time for my own questions.
This was a newly created position in a new department that the company hasn't worked in before. I got the impression that they were trying to get free consulting work from candidates and that they would do poorly in this new field since they had no experience in it. The hiring manager clearly didn't understand the field. Four months after this, they were still advertising the position.
The interview felt steady and professional, with decent rapport, clear answers, a few hesitations, mutual interest, and a sense that expectations were met—neither exceeding nor disappointing, just comfortably in between.

Interview
Interview process was very typical. HR screening took place first. Met with hiring manager for about an hour. Then met with the team in a panel interview. Very standard questions.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at ENGIE (Paris) in Apr 2022

Email received from Talent recruiter, saying they are interested in my profile, I sent a CV, had a 1st interview with Talent recruiter, then with potential N+1, with Group Talent Director and senior HRM.
