I applied for a role at Dr. Reddy’s, fully expecting to be interviewing with a global pharmaceutical company as per the job description, which also stated it was in partnership with a medtech organisation. Instead, in the very first call, I was interviewed by someone from a different company entirely, asked to sign an NDA upfront without any explanation, and told repeatedly that the position would actually be within a startup of fewer than 10 people, with all the associated risks. I was further told during the interview that the role would essentially be working in the startup but employed and paid by Dr. Reddy’s because the startup does not have a UK entity.
This was never mentioned in the job description or the application process. The lack of transparency felt unprofessional and misleading. When candidates apply for a role at Dr. Reddy’s, they should not find out mid-interview that the job is fundamentally different from what was advertised. It gave me the impression that my time was being wasted, and that such significant details should have been disclosed before scheduling an interview - let alone before asking someone to sign an NDA with an unknown firm they did not apply to.
