The application process was straightforward, and they provided ample information about the role and expectations. However, I was surprised to find that they use a no-reply email domain to reject applications. When I tried to reply to their rejection to express my gratitude for the opportunity, I was unable to do so. While I understand that this policy might be intended to minimize clutter in their inbox, it made the application experience feel somewhat transactional, and Doist, as a company, doesn’t seem like a transactional place. Although I didn’t have a bad experience overall, I feel like the process could improve if the company created a designated email domain for applicants to reach out with questions or to send a brief thank-you note.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Doist (Brooklyn, NY) in Dec 2025
Interview
Very nice recruiter, but the hiring manager didn't want anything to do with me, noting how they had been speaking to candidates all day & night. Need to narrow down options earlier because that is not fair to either party.
Thank you for sharing your review. We are sad to hear that you didn't have a good experience. We are constantly iterating on our interviewing approach and will continue to improve our hiring manager stage, as well. We do take shortlisting very seriously and none of our interviewers are interviewing large volumes, but we'll look into this role specifically and re-evaluate what went wrong here. Thank you again and wishing all the best with your current search!
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Doist in Apr 2025
Interview
Got rejected after first interview. This interview was a screening interview to check whether you fit in the culture, and to get to know you in general. After that interview, the next step would have been a take home exercise composed of a code review, a bug fix, and a new feature on a pre-existing codebase.
