I rated the interview as average because the process and conversation went mostly how you'd expect it to go. The thing that I wasn't expecting was for the hiring manager to tell me that my 8+ years of experience in the jewelry industry were "worthless to him" because he would have to "untrain me" and then teach me the Diamonds Direct ways. I'm well aware that all companies have their own policies/procedures or "ways" of doing things, but to tell a prospective candidate that their experience is worthless really speaks volumes about the company - or at least that store's - culture. For what it's worth, I had been contacted by a recruiter for Diamonds Direct to schedule this interview, based on my resume and experience.

I've interviewed for Diamond's Direct twice now, I am livid of my experience. The first interview with the recruiter went great. I was moved along in the process and was not contacted again. My second interview with them, I passed the interview with the recruiter again. I explained my previous experience and how hurt I was about it, and she assured me it would not happen again. I interviewed with the store manager who seemed to have liked me during our interview and wanted to schedule time to speak again. I have not heard from him since.
