Interview
Contacted by a recruiter. First time did a phone interview with the Operations Manager and Heat Treat Supervisor. Followed up with two rounds of in person interviews. Last in person interview I met with supervisor, plant manager, and HR.
I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Diamond Chain (Indianapolis, IN) in Oct 2016
Interview
Extremely long, complicated and horrible experience. Plan on using your vacation time to meet with everyone at the company. Between the phone screens, multiple lunches and back and forth to meet everyone, you'll be burning personal time and vacation days just to interview... Don't expect this to move quickly. Probably should of just ask to meet president from day one and saved myself months...
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Very basic questions from every interviewer.. Nothing to complicated... This company can't make a timely decision...
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Diamond Chain (Indianapolis, IN) in Oct 2012
Interview
A recruiter recommended this company as someone trying to get an engineer in there quickly. I was asked to do an on-site late on a Friday afternoon. This was with the new Quality Manager and a Quality Engineer, sandwiched between talking with the HR manager. It was a fairly comfortable discourse and not terribly technical. The focus was mostly on explaining my background as they read my resume. This ended around 5PM on a Friday, and they walked me out.
I then had a second interview with the same QM and QE, who then walked me throughout the plant. The facilities themselves were almost in shambles in places, with a lot of dirt, grime, and leaking water. I was introduced to many of the staff, and the visit focused on the job and opportunities in the plant.
Next, I received a request for a third interview with the QM. I met her for lunch, answered a couple questions on my background, fielded a situational question, then had lunch and talked about family stuff for 20 minutes. She left without giving me any feedback or when I'd hear back.
I finally received an email after almost a month of no contact saying they'd gone with another candidate with 15-20 years of experience, for what seemed like an entry-level position. Everyone seemed easy to get along with and relatable, but contact was infrequent and I wasn't given much feedback or information.
