I applied online. I interviewed at DealersLink in Oct 2020
Interview
Hour long phone interview to get to know you to start. Turns into a 6 hour interview process that probably only requires 2 to do everything necessary. Fill out paperwork describing your work ethic on scales of 1-5. Answer some random questions that don’t really apply to the position such as, “What new product should Twitter produce?”
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Their biggest thing was role play between myself and 2 employees. They wanted you to pretend like you’re a car dealer and you’re attempting to sell a car to a a live customer(something you wouldn’t do at all in the role of the sales rep) without having any knowledge of the system or the inner workings of it. The second role play is supposed to be you attempting to sell the DealersLink product to a gm and director of sales of a car dealership, without knowing literally anything about the DealersLink process. They reached out to me saying I had great experience, (Route Sales) little did I know they were expecting Sales beasts who can sell anything to anyone without knowing the product.
Dealerslink runs a standard interview process for all applicants that is detailed and thorough. Dealerslink is run by a highly effective and efficient dedicated team that focuses on execution. If you feel our interview process is to rigorous then its possible you may not be able to handle the demands of the job which requires a high level of ability and performance. Not all applicants agree with the process, but we are only looking to hire top performers.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at DealersLink (Broomfield, CO) in Jan 2020
Interview
It started with a 10 minute phone call, in which I was told to come in for an hour interview. Fair enough, but I was then told if that went well I would have to come in for a 4-6 interview including tests. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. I can't just take 6 hours of my day to take tests for a job that only pays $50k/year. It's straight up sad that after years of taking years of State Standardized Testing, SAT, ACT, and getting through college they need me to take more tests. Unless you are already unemployed, there's no way this is feasible enough to fit into someone's schedule
