      Recruiter Interview

      Oct 4, 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Dallas, TX
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Dallas Executives (Dallas, TX) in Jul 2017

      Interview

This place is an absolute joke. I received an interview invitation about a day after applying. At the time I was looking for an entry level position with minimal experience, and decent pay (which they advertised as $35K). When I arrive, I find out I have to pay for parking, which really isn't that big a deal but usually companies give you a heads up about this. Then I find out that the "office" is actually a shared space with another company - meaning it was very cramped. There were quite a number of other candidates waiting in the reception area. My first tip off that this place was a scam was when a candidate decided she no longer wished to meet with a recruiter as she had waited more than ONE HOUR past her scheduled interview. But alas, I decided to stick it out. When I finally get called back, the interview lasts all of five minutes and I find out that the pay is actually next to nothing. But I endure and end up coming in the next day for a second interview. This one happens to be a group presentation, where I meet the senior manager in charge (in her inappropriate maxi dress) and sit with about 5-6 other candidates. After taking a short survey or quiz if you will after the presentation, I meet for a brief one-on-one with the senior manager. Half the discussion revolved around how she was dying from the humid, mosquito-ridden Dallas atmosphere and the other half was a sales pitch for some service the company was promoting. Needless to say, I drove home laughing. If you're looking for a career, this is NOT it. If you are simply desperate for a few bucks (because that is all you'll get here) be prepared for cold calls, door to door sales and standing on street corners to shove flyers in people's faces. You know those people at Walmart who hang out in the entertainment section trying to convince you to switch to AT&T as your provider? That's exactly what this job is.

      Interview

The interview process was pretty quick, just a total of 2 days. The first interview was a one-on-one meeting that was fairly simple. Just generic questions were asked about goals, skills, and experience. However in the second and final interview, you are grouped with other candidates for an intro session to the company where you are expected to take notes and ask questions. Then you fill out a brief survey and wait to be called for a last one-on-one meeting. This meeting was pretty short, probably 3-5 minutes for me. Here, you are just expected to ask questions about the company and compensation. Though I should point out that for my first interview, about 4 people cancelled their interviews on the spot due to the incredibly long wait time. One girl was scheduled for a 10:30 AM interview and was still waiting to be called back by the time I arrived, which was around 12:00 PM. So, needless to say, things are not very efficient within the office, especially due to the fact that there is NO receptionist for Dallas Exec.
