      Medical Writer Interview

      Dec 15, 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at DWA in Oct 2021

      Interview

Hiring manager was annoyed and attitude changed after they misread my resume and assumed I had a PharmD. Recruiter knew this and said pharmacy experience was sufficient. Did not get a response after submitting a writing assessment that took 8+ hours to complete.

      Medical Writer Interview

      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at DWA

      Interview

Applied for the role online for a Medical Role within Avant Communications and got interview with the recruiter that went really well. I was then sent a writing assignment to complete, which took a decent amount of time. It was at least a few days as I was working on it outside of my current job hours. I then sent it and had to follow to gain any feedback. The feedback I received felt very rush and like they were nick picky, especially as I had told them what my background and experiences were prior to the interview. I emailed them back letting them know that their feedback felt very unjust and never hear back after that. Candidates should get paid for their time interviewing and doing the assignment that wasn’t by any means quick. Definitely felt like a waste of time.

      Medical Writer Interview

      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at DWA

      Interview

So many people involved, seems the company has many workers hours to spare, which is money that could go towards bonuses for workers. This company is perpetually advertising for writers, that’s a red flag right there too! The person guiding me through the interview process was initially very nice, but by the time I got to the end had probably heard I was a nonstarter because I wanted to be paid a fair wage, then the tone changed. I heard back they worried about client interactions. Really! That was my strength, thank goodness I found another place to work with a better salary and bigger challenges. It would have been a mistake to work at this place, a small pond with some wannabe be fish in it. It seems like a good place if you are straight out of school, to enable you to get some experience, but after a year you would want to leave and get something better, it is amateurish at best.
