Interview
I interviewed at Crown & Caliber a couple of years back. I was two years out after attending a good undergraduate university, and I applied online through my university's alumni website. A headhunter contacted me, did an initial interview, and sent me some watch-researching questions to submit to C&C. A week or so after my submission, the headhunter invited me down to C&C for an on-site interview. Their office was about a 5 hour drive, and they told me they would not cover anything - no gas, no meals, no one night stay, nothing. I told them I'd be there. I arrived promptly 10 minutes before my interview time, but they kept me waiting until about 15 minutes after my slot. When I walked into the office, they were all eating Chik-fil-A sandwiches and fries. I was not offered any. The interview was as can be expected. I stumbled on a question or two, was given one of the briefest tours possible, and sent on my way. I should note that the watch-refurbisher was an incredibly interesting person. My brief few minutes talking to him made me awe-struck with the intricacy of some watches. Nevertheless, I sent a thank you email to both the headhunter and C&C and received radio silence for 10 days. I sent a final follow up and received a brief note from the CEO saying they were not interested in proceeding with my candidacy. Whether it was cruelty or carelessness makes no difference to me, I only hope I can save a fellow job-seeker from encountering this same situation. A seller's market they took advantage of.

HR was slow getting back to me about a decision. During my rejection phone call, I was told that I did not want a job in sales and wanted a job in a different department. This was a perplexing comment to make considering I applied for a sales job knowing that it was a sales job and was looking for a sales job. No feedback was given when asked about this.
