After sending in my resume, the HR person reached out to set up an interview with her and the CFO. The interviewers put me at ease. They were looking for someone to be a good fit for their company and also willing to be trained to do the work. Then the CEO followed up with an interview mainly about their culture to be sure I thought I would fit in there well.
