      IT Senior Project Manager Interview

      Sep 24, 2018

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Crossover for Work (Rio de Janeiro) in Sep 2018

      Interview

I'm a senior pro with 20+ years as PM and Program Manager, PMO and sales exec, PMP and PgMP. The process was demanding yet quite uneventful, as most people describes iT: You register for a tournament, so thatSaturday you seat for it, listen to the rules and the info. Then you fill a mini profile and attach your Resume. Step 2 is a quick test, reasonable. Then you need to enter THE test, that is about really showing you can do the work. After you check the 8 questions (it took some 9 hrs to complete) the screen informs you that you'll know of Crossover in the next week. In my case I was informed some 20 hrs after completing the test, or 17 after the deadline that I wasn't been considered for the position. Ok, that's fine. Just that I didn't get any feedback, so I cannot guess what should I improve. If it's a stopping issue (Like I have no experience in a specific industry), that cannot be changed unless I get that experience. But if it's a problem with the tests, well, that can be improved next time, There's a new tournament next Saturday but I cannot attend because I should let pass 3 months. It'd be really useful to learn where did I miss, so I know if I could improve next time or my resume, or English, or whatever produced a no-go that won't change no matter what I do. I longed a lot for this job. Understand it's not a lovely proposal, but a harsh one. However it fits me, as I'm more concerned with delivering value and being well paid. It's not the kind you do barbecues with your colleagues on Saturdays.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

-Prepare a schedule for a cloud-based product, status report and something else -Prepare a budget -What to do first if several stakeholders from several companies trying to unify cannot get in agreement. I remember that kind of question was part of some PMP or PgMP exam -Epic, stories, Tasks and subtasks in jira -Kanban in Jira (the backlog permission issue)
