I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Conrail (Dearborn, MI) in Aug 2012
Interview
There were 3 tests. A 100 question test (5 min timed) - basically you look at a 5 digit number/letter/symbol combination and find the match. Second test was basic math and simple mechanics ie 3 gears turning Which direction does gear 'C' turn? The third test was reading comprehension.

Question 1
The same 5 questions are asked to every applicant. Why should we hire you? What would you do if you saw a problem? How would you handle a problem with a coworker? What specific skill do you bring to the job? Do you have any questions about Conrail?
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Conrail (Mount Laurel, NJ) in Oct 2017
Interview
3 stages to the process. 40+ people in the testing session. We watched a video that discribes the postition, "the managers try to scare yu out the room. I received an email a week later inviting me to come in for a panel interview with 2 supervisors who again went over the riggers of the position. That went well, got another email for 3rd phase. A 5 panel interview with the "BOSSES".. I was flat out told my experience didn't fit what they were looking for.
