I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Confluent (Texas City, TX) in Apr 2021
Interview
The interview process was divided into 4 parts;
- The Recruiter stage
- The Coding Stage; at the time there were 2 questions, 1 must be done in Java and the other in any other OOP language.
- The Hiring manager who mostly checks for your passion to join the team and the company and checks whether you're a culture fit.
- The Team interview. Panel of 2 people, 45 minutes each back to back checking behavioral, and technical abilities.

It's been a while and I don't really recall but use of lambda functions, knowledge of cloud & platform security is very essential. Some prior experience with Kafka definitely sets you apart.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Confluent in Aug 2022
Interview
The recruiter reached out to me via LinkedIn for a Consulting engineer role. He said there will be 3 rounds of interviews. After clearing 3 rounds, the recruiter said you need to give another round. After clearing the 4th round, the recruiter said you need to give another ( 5th round ). After giving the 5th round, recruiter came back and told me that they are looking for an architect role and not a consulting engineer anymore. I mean really? After the candidate is investing so much time in preparing for these interviews and taking out 5 hours to give interviews, you are telling that the requirement has changed? Please try not to waste the time of any candidate. The 5th interviewer doesn't seems to be intersted at all while he was taking the interview. It was for a consulting engineer role for the Central region.
