      Talent Partner Interview

      Sep 24, 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Concero (WI)

      Interview

The process was outlined to me as multiple rounds, with the final one being with the CEO essentially as a formality if a candidate reached that stage. In total, there were five rounds, including the CEO interview, as well as a 45 minute take-home assessment. Ultimately, I was informed that I was not selected for the role. As a Talent professional, I fully understand that either I or any candidate may not always be the strongest or most qualified for a particular role, and I can accept that as part of the interview process. What I found frustrating, however, was the significant time investment required: multiple interview rounds and a take home assessment, each accompanied by detailed and encouraging feedback, only to be told in the end that the company is not hiring anyone. It seems clear that internal alignment on hiring decisions should be established before initiating a process of this scale to ensure respect for candidates’ time.

Thank you for the feedback. You are correct; our interview process is rigorous, as we are a specialized boutique firm and hold a very high standard for the quality of our recruiters. It is essential that we thoroughly assess our candidates and their qualifications. This also suggests why there may not have been an open role that matched your specific qualifications. While we often reach out to potential candidates for open recruiting roles, we have a wide range of expertise and experience within our recruiting team. It does on occasion happen that we initially bring someone into the process with the thought that they could fill one of our open positions, with a particular skill set or level of experience in mind. However, after going through the process, we may find that the candidate’s background does not align with that specific open role. It's not that we aren't hiring anyone; it's just that we aren't looking for someone with that particular expertise to fill the available role. We often don’t know this until we uncover it through the in-depth process. We apologize that your expectations were not correctly set and that our enthusiasm in the process may have led you down an unintended path. We wish you only the best in your future endeavors. If you'd like to discuss your experience further, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.
